Alexandra M. Rockwood is an Associate Attorney with the law firm of Chiacchia & Fleming, LLP and has been with the firm since early 2018. She practices primarily in the areas of personal injury, criminal law, employment law and general litigation.

Ms. Rockwood graduated magna cum laude from SUNY Geneseo with a degree in History and minors in Political Science and Business.  She went on to earn her master’s degree in Social Work at the University at Buffalo in 2017. In addition, she passed her licensing exam and became a Licensed Master of Social Work. She recently graduated magna cum laude with her law degree from the University at Buffalo School of Law in 2018. While in law school, she was an Editor on the Buffalo Law Review and a member of the Buffalo Public Interest Law Journal. She also completed a concentration in Family Law.

During law school, Ms. Rockwood gained legal experience through her participation in a judicial clerkship, several internships, and an independent study.

Notably, during her 1L summer, she clerked under the Honorable William M. Skretny at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York. During this clerkship, she researched and drafted memoranda in connection with litigation pending in the Western District as well as observed many facets of civil and criminal litigation.

Ms. Rockwood also completed an internship with the Legal Aid Bureau Attorneys for Children Unit where she assisted in client interviews, conducted legal research regarding custody issues, observed court proceedings in Erie County Family Court, and worked under a practice order on a neglect case from intake to third appearance. Additionally, Ms. Rockwood interned with KidsPeace Foster Care where she assisted the program manager in daily case management, shadowed case workers during home visits, completed progress notes and intake paperwork for clients, and completed trainings pertinent to foster care.

She also completed an independent study with the Empire Justice Center. During this independent study, Ms. Rockwood drafted the Family section for the Crime Victims Legal Network Project as well as drafted a training curriculum for LiveChat volunteers.

Ms. Rockwood was admitted to the New York State Bar in June 2018 and is a member of the Erie County and New York State Bar Associations.
